Region 9A Joins Forces with Region 9 for CAP Lobby Conference in Albany

More than 150 UAW Region 9 and 9A members convened in Albany last week to advocate for our legislative priorities, including but not limited to childcare, taxing the rich, temporary disability insurance, adjunct unemployment and paid family leave, and more.

This conference built upon the longstanding ties between our regions, and together we successfully lobbied over 100 legislators’ offices on our priorities. With the state budget process fast approaching its conclusion, this final push provided a major boost to our priorities.

On Sunday and Monday, our members heard from each other and our legislative champions about how we could advance our political priorities during our time in Albany.

On Monday, members gathered for a press conference at the Million Dollar Staircase in the State Capitol.

Finally, members joined small groups to visit over 100 legislative offices in Albany for direct conversations with our elected representatives.
