Region 9A Guides for New Leaders and New Locals

In recent years, the UAW has once again become a fighting, democratic union that puts the membership first. After the stunning Stand Up Strike of 2023 against the Big Three, our members in auto won record contracts—but we did not stop there. Since then, members in IPS, Aerospace, General Dynamics, Heavy Truck, and Higher Education have all made incredible advancements in their contract fights.  You are UAW local leaders at a critical time in our union and Region’s proud history.  

We want to share with you two recent publications from our Region that aim to gather critical resources that every local leader should be aware of, framing the strongest way to build a member-drive local union.  We have developed these guides with specific information for both newly chartered locals as well as newly elected leaders, but the information contained is applicable even to long-time executive board members.
