The UAW Contingent will be meeting up starting at 4:00pm at the Garibaldi Statue located on the East Side of Washington Square Park.
As we live in a time of increased repression and militarism both at home and abroad, fascism is on the rise. But the labor movement and people's movement across this country are rising to meet the moment and defeat authoritarianism wherever it manifests itself from Minneapolis to New York City. While the federal administration puts forward a platform of fear and division, and our state government provides a tepid response to the needs of average people, labor's agenda imagines a better world where workers have:
- Living Wages
- Medicare for All
- A Dignified Retirement
- Time Off to spend with our families and loved ones
Let's come together on May 1 to show NYC the power of the united working class to defeat fascism and build an alternative which works for all.
