From funding cuts to attacks on free speech, our union has been busy fighting back against Trump’s assault on higher education. Our next opportunity to discuss these attacks and strategize our response will be at the Higher Education Council virtual meeting on Wednesday, April 16th at 7pm ET / 6pm CT / 5pm MT / 4pm PT on Zoom.

At our April meeting, we’ll hear about legislative changes affecting higher education workers, and the ways our members have been fighting back. We’ll also preview the new UAW Higher Education website and get your input on programming our first in-person meeting in June.

We understand this has been a busy year at many higher education locals, and you may not have had a chance to elect delegates just yet. Please share this registration link for the April 16 virtual meeting with your Higher Education leaders, and please make sure you elect official delegates before the next Council meeting, June 21-22 at the UAW Region 6 Office in Pico Rivera, California. All Council meetings are open to UAW higher education members and workers in UAW organizing campaigns. The June meeting will have workshops and strategy sessions, but only elected delegates will be able to vote during Council proceedings. You can register elected delegates for the June meeting using this form.

If you have any questions about our upcoming Higher Education Council meetings or the allocation of delegates, please contact Zoe Carey (zcarey@uaw.net) or Neal Sweeney (nsweeney@uaw.net) from the Higher Education Department.
