2025 UAW Education Committees Conference

The UAW Education Department will hold its Education Committees Conference May 18-23, 2025. The conference will be held at the Walter and May Reuther UAW Family Education Center in Onaway, Michigan.

Join us for high-energy training to empower local union education committees to be effective in building local education programs and mobilizing member participation. This conference taps into the creativity of some of our most enthusiastic local union activists. Participants will leave feeling encouraged and ready to design new strategies to broaden the reach of union education programs. Key competencies that will be developed include facilitation skills, program development strategies, and effective communication methods to engage member participation.

Delegates will be assigned to core training according to their experience with union education and whether they have previously completed Effective Educator training. Some delegates will attend training with heavy focus on facilitation skill development. Those who have previously attended Effective Educator training will focus on how to build a well-rounded and effective local union education program. In addition to assigned core training, delegates will have the opportunity to choose from a set of workshops designed to target skill development in their areas of interest.
