Thanks to union members’ tireless efforts, a bill is heading to Gov. Lamont's desk that would allow striking workers to access unemployment insurance after striking for two weeks—a vital protection in the face of the assault on workers’ rights by the White House.
But instead, Gov. Lamont has threatened to veto this vital bill. Instead of siding with Connecticut workers, he's siding with corporate CEOs. We're calling on all union members and allies to join us on Monday, June 16, for a picket outside the Governor's Mansion to urge him to sign this bill into law!
We also need all Connecticut members to contact Governor Lamont and demand he sign SB 8. Click here to send him a message. With just the stroke of a pen, Gov. Lamont has the power to make a real difference in the lives of working people and ensure employers can no longer starve out their workers.
