Ben Dormus

Ben Dormus joined the NOLSW staff in February 2025 and serves as northeast regional organizer and servicing representative with assignments in other NOLSW regions as well. Prior to joining the staff at NOLSW, Ben worked as a paralegal in legal services organizations in Philadelphia, where he was a member of AFSCME District 1199c, and in Cleveland, where he was a member of NOLSW. During his time in Cleveland, he served on the organizing, executive, and bargaining committees for Legal Aid United. Ben began organizing in high school when he helped form a student union and continued organizing during college working on anti-police violence campaigns. Outside of work at NOLSW, he also organizes with Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) and the Institute for Christian Socialism (ICS). Ben is a 2021 graduate of Yale College where he studied political philosophy and legal studies and a 2024 graduate of Duke University Divinity School with a Master of Arts in Christian Practice where he studied theology and the arts.
