Originally part of District 65, in 1992 our union joined the UAW—or the United Automobile, Aerospace and Agricultural Implement Workers of America. The UAW is one of the largest and most diverse unions in North America, with more than 600 local unions in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico. Our 400,000 active members and 580,000 retired members represent virtually every sector of the economy.
