Pete Savino was a Hearings Investigator at the City of Santa Monica Rent Control Department from 1985 until his retirement  -----. Pete’s responsibilities included investigating conditions of rental units and ascertaining whether property owners were in compliance with the law.

Up until his retirement, Pete was the Unit Chairperson, in which capacity he served for many years. An active unit member for decades, he also served on the Bargaining Team and as Grievance Handler. Pete is known for his persistence in getting justice for unit members as well as those seeking it from the Rent Control Law. 

In the past, Pete has worked as a boycott organizer/coordinator for the United Farm Workers, an organizer for SEIU #99, and a community organizer in Los Angeles and Santa Monica.
