Karen first joined NOLSW in 1991 as a staff lawyer at Legal Services for Cape Cod & Islands. She rejoined NOLSW after organizing the lawyers at the Rhode Island Disability Rights Center in the late 1990s and then became a Northeast Regional Organizer with NOLSW in 2002.  Karen was the Recording Secretary for NOLSW for about 15 minutes just before leaving the local to become an International Representative in UAW Region 9A in 2008.  Since “retiring” from the International in 2019, Karen has been working for Local 2322, an amalgamated local based in Western MA which represents about 5,000 members in higher education, secondary and early childhood education, human services and municipal services in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Vermont.
