Day 20 - Daily Bargaining Update - 10/31/2026

Brothers & Sisters,
Today’s update - the Union continues to stand ready to meet the company if they are ready to bargain in good faith. We have received no direct response to our formal message to the company Thursday night. The company’s only response was to send a misleading letter directly to our members, and take aggressive moves at the plant. Is that a serious, good-faith step toward a deal?
Second, yesterday the UAW Legal Department filed Federal charges against Triumph for:
- Harassment/intimidation of members about the Union’s strike vote.
- Retaliatory statements for the Union making proposals on job security.
- Surveilling and intimidating members engaged in legally protected/concerted activity.
- Refusal to bargain over mandatory subjects of bargaining - job security and COLA.
- Failing to provide requested information on healthcare plan and the company’s financial position necessary for the Union to cost and prepare its proposals.
- Failing to respond timely to Union proposals, and/or make proposals.
- Refusal to meaningfully consider Union proposals.
- Intentionally providing misleading information to members about voting on the employer’s offer.
These are beyond just hard bargaining - they are illegal tactics. We chose not to fight over these bad-faith tactics during bargaining, in order to try to focus on getting to a deal. But we cannot let the company trample on our members’ rights.
This shows just how unreasonable this company has been. And why we have to stand for respect and to improve our members’ lives. Is this a management team we can trust to voluntarily honor our contract and our Union when they won’t put it in writing?
What We’re Fighting For
This year is about respect. It’s about security for our families. It’s about improving our lives.
The company has made $680 million during this contract. But we’ve fallen behind. And who pays the price? Our families.
Not this year.
In the Union’s latest proposal, between wages and other economic gains, we would improve our members by $30,000/year on average. That is a fraction of this company’s profits - there’s still plenty for them. But ask yourself, what could your family do with $30,000? How could it improve their lives? Could we spend more time with them?
This is why we’re fighting.
Because this company is breaking the law, and fighting us right up to the deadline to keep us from securing our families’ future. It is greed, plain and simple. And this year, our members have been clear they won’t take it.
In Solidarity,
Your Bargaining Committee
