Day 17 - Daily Bargaining Update - 10/28/2026

Sisters & Brothers,
We met at the bargaining table this morning and received a counter-package from the company. On the positive side, the company heard us that they had to back off their concessions - we made serious progress on that front. However, the company is still not moving on successorship, job security, CoLA, industry standard wages, or healthcare costs.
That is why today’s Health Walk was so important - and we had a huge turnout! The membership turned out in full force to win a great contract. We got enormous support from other union members and elected leaders: Senator Blumenthal, Lt. Governor Bysiewicz, Attorney General William Tong, State Rep. Kate Farrar, US congressional candidate Luke Bronin. All these legislators are supporting us and will be with us throughout this fight. We are going into the final stretch strong and confident.
What Happens Next?
Tomorrow we will deliver another full package proposal to the company. We are getting near the deadline and our membership has clearly shown the Company they are prepared to strike if the company does not move seriously on our key issues. So to make progress, the Union intends to make big movements on its proposals tomorrow while staying focused on our members key priorities:
- Job Security/Successorship
- Industry standard wages
- CoLA
- Affordable Healthcare
Our Strike Prep committee has also been working hard on logistics in the event we have to strike. We will be sending out the picket schedule and instructions, and a strike FAQ in the next couple days.
Stay tuned for more updates each day!

In Solidarity,
Your Bargaining Committee
