Day 14 - Daily Bargaining Update - 10/23/2026

Brothers & Sisters,
The Union just met with the company to finally receive their economic proposal, 8 days before our contract expiration. And frankly, the company is still not taking our membership seriously. Here is a summary on the company’s counter proposal to the Union’s economic proposal from a week ago:
- General Wage Increases (GWI) - below last contract and not even close to make up inflation from the past five years. No dollar amount increase and lower percentages.
- Overtime - No OT on Sunday if you don’t work agreed OT Saturday. No OT pay for working past 8 hours on a weekday. Must work 40 hours before OT pay kicks in.
- Holiday - must work all hours offered to qualify for triple time pay.
- Safety Shoes - flat rate that does not roll over and is combined with safety glasses. Remove in-house eye doctor and shoe truck.
Here is what was not in the company’s proposal:
- No Job Security
- No Industry Leading Wages
- No CoLA
- No Profit Share
- No money for healthcare expenses
- No additional holidays (Veterans, MLK, Juneteenth)
Other UAW aerospace contracts have all of these.
And unbelievably the company reproposed some of their non-economic concessions.
We have told the company this year is different. And your bargaining committee is confident we will win a great agreement this year. The Union is the reasonable side and the company can afford everything we have proposed and plenty more. But we have to keep showing our solidarity.
What’s Next:
The Union is analyzing the company’s proposals and working on its next round of proposals to present next week.
We need every member to turn out and vote today (11:30AM-8PM) and tomorrow (8AM-3PM). This is the most important vote in our history. This is how we win a great contract, and the committee recommends a resounding Yes vote!
In Solidarity,
Your Local 405 Bargaining Committee
