Day 5 - Bargaining Update - 10/09/2026

Good afternoon Sisters and Brothers, 

We wanted to provide an update, as we did not send one out yesterday.

Yesterday was spent preparing for today's negotiations. We reviewed the company's responses to our proposals, worked on our counterproposals, and prepared our positions for the discussions ahead.

Today, we presented some of our counterproposals to the company and made progress by reaching several tentative agreements. 

While this is a positive step forward, there is still plenty of work ahead. Next week will be a big week in negotiations, and we need your continued support and solidarity as we move forward.

We encourage everyone to attend the upcoming membership meeting on Monday October 12, 2026 at 2:45pm at the Union Hall (666 Oakwood Avenue, West Hartford, CT 06110). We also will be presenting a UAW video about our local. 

This is an opportunity for us to provide additional updates, answer your questions, and hear your concerns. We want you to have the opportunity to speak directly with your bargaining committee about what is happening at the table and ask any questions you may have.

Your involvement matters. These negotiations are about our membership, and we want everyone to stay engaged, and united as we continue fighting for a stronger contract.
