UAW workers will remain on strike until ratification.
Dear Union Brothers and Sisters: We just reached a Tentative Agreement with GM a short time ago, today, Wednesday, October 16, 2019. We will go over the details when the Council meets tomorrow morning in Detroit.

Collective bargaining is the process in which a group of workers comes together and negotiates the terms of their contracts with one voice. Making their demands, together. Making a promise that whatever is offered to one will be rejected unless it is offered to all.

The UAW Financial Officers’ Conference will be held Sunday, March 24 through Friday, March 29, 2019, at the Buena Vista Palace Hotel in Orlando, Florida. This conference is for local union presidents, financial secretaries/treasurers, trustees and recording secretaries.

UAW Navistar members have voted to ratify a new six-year contract. The UAW negotiating team secured significant economic and benefit improvements including the elimination of all tiered wages, profit sharing, pension plan improvements, and a “no closing agreement” which includes language to retain the contract if the company is sold or merged.

The agreement covers Navistar Local 6 and 2293 in Melrose Park; Local 472 in Atlanta; Local 119 in Dallas; Local 1872 in York, PA and Local 402 and 658 in Springfield, Ohio.

Monday, the UAW lodged a formal objection opposing GM's plan to close four American auto plants in 2019. The complaint objected to GM's unilateral decision on the future of those facilities, without the agreement of the UAW, required by the 2015 National Agreement.

On October 13, 2018 the 21st Annual Homeless Veteran Stand Down took place at the Veterans Administration Hospital Togus, VA Augusta, Maine.  Staff and Volunteers spent the day supporting various services were provided to the homeless.  Region 9A UAW Veterans Council Donated $500, presented by the BMDA Veterans Committee members Donna Mathews (Chair) Retired D82, Gregg Moulton D87 and David Colfer D87.  Susie Whittington accepted the donation on behalf of the VA Homeless Veterans Program
